Refried beans straight out of the can taste and smell like dog food. The texture leaves a lot to be desired. But making our own refritos? Ain't nobody got time for that! Let's dress up our canned refried beans!

Ingredients
- 4 strips bacon
- Half a red onion
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic or garlic powder
- One can refried beans
- One can pinto beans
Steps
- Cut bacon into bits and saute in a medium saucepan
- Chop the half onion and add to bacon with fat. Season with salt and pepper
- Cook until onion is fragrant and bacon is crisp
- Add garlic or garlic powder and stir. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds
- Add can of refried beans and mix until bacon, onion, and garlic are incorporated
- Add can of pinto beans and gently stir until it's incorporated, taking care not to break pinto beans too much
- Use as base for bean dip or in burritos
